Butterball, LLC Debuts Podcast Series With The National Provisioner

America's largest turkey producer, Butterball,LLC, has teamed with The National Provisioner and is debuting a monthly podcast series in May. Each Butterball podcast will feature executive team members offering commentary on various components of Butterball's successfuloperational strategies.

A focus on the company's award-winning worker safety programs will kick off the series. Subsequent podcasts will cover an array of topics pertinent to the meat processing industry such as ethanol, food safety initiatives, sustainability and Butterball's seasonal and holiday marketing strategies.

"Developing a podcast series with The National Provisioner has given Butterball an unprecedented opportunity to increase our company's exposure through new and innovative technologies," said Brian Rodgers, director of safety and risk management, "As audiences continue to alter how they receive messages, we think it is important to evolve with those changes. This podcast is a great example of how Butterball is making an effort to stay connected to its key audiences through emerging media."

This podcast project was developed after Butterball's industry-leading worker safety initiatives were featured in The National Provisioner's January 2009 cover story. Andy Hanacek, executive editor of The National Provisioner, visited the company's Huntsville, AR facility and reported on the worker safety strategies in the story "Safe Haven."

"The National Provisioner's editorial mission is to educate the protein industry on best practices and successful strategies in a variety of areas. Partnering with a top-of-the-line processor such as Butterball adds further credibility to our powerful brand," said Hanacek.
