Butterball Embraces All Cooks in the Kitchen This Thanksgiving As More Men Get Involved
GARNER, N.C. (October 9, 2013) – Today’s kitchen and American family are evolving which has led to a shift in Thanksgiving cooking responsibilities. A new Butterball survey found that one in four men say they help out more in the kitchen than they did a few years ago, and nearly half of men play a significant role in either preparing or cooking the turkey for the Thanksgiving meal1.
To help support all Thanksgiving cooks, Butterball® conducted a nationwide search this fall to find the very first male Turkey Talk-Line® spokesman. The new spokesman will be announced in mid-November and will join two to three Chicagoland area men on the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line to share their advice with Thanksgiving cooks.

Tips for the New Thanksgiving Table
Butterball has three tips for the new Thanksgiving table that will help any cook prepare for the big day, ensuring the Thanksgiving meal is a success.
1. Today’s Modern Kitchen: More than half of men say they are primarily responsible for household meals throughout the year now – with over a quarter saying they help out with meal preparation more than they did two or three years ago2. So this year when cooking the big meal, look to men to help out – it just may become a new tradition!
2. Expand Your Thanksgiving Cooking Crew: More family members are involved in the cooking process than ever before – especially when it comes to Thanksgiving. Eighty-four percent of men are involved in some aspect of holiday meal preparation3, so get everyone involved this Thanksgiving and assign easy tasks like dicing vegetables or setting the table to more advanced tasks like carving the turkey.
3. Who Says Men Don’t Ask For Directions?: Men may not stop and ask for directions, but they do when it comes to cooking. Men are more likely than women to say they would consult their significant other or spouse when seeking cooking advice for Thanksgiving, with more than half of them seeking their partner’s trusted tips4. From thawing to carving, don’t be afraid to ask for advice.
